Tatiana Vizcaino
Tatiana Vizcaíno is a community co-investigator and project manager whose work focuses on helping diverse groups work collaboratively by addressing and reducing their linguistic and cultural barriers. She manages Aliados por la salud, a collaborative research project with community health workers, promotoras, and academics working together to understand factors that have led to the disproportionate burden of the pandemic on underserved populations and to support improved access and availability of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) testing.
Tatiana creates model programs integrating language justice practices and cross-cultural awareness to facilitate participation in community-engaged civic and academic processes. She has extensive experience screening, training, managing, and assessing interpreters for various community, health, and research settings.
Tatiana draws inspiration while mentoring and supporting emerging leaders from Spanish-speaking communities and women of color and developing practices that support language equity, inclusion, and community engagement, focusing on working within the nonprofit sector.
