"Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community."

Dear Friends,

We at United Way of Merced County are extremely excited to share with you the wonderful work that is being done within our County as neighbors help neighbors in building our community.

United Way volunteers are constantly looking at programs and services designed to make positive changes in our community.  As community priorities change, United Way of Merced County changes to meet those issues.  The one constant in this white water of change is the need to have a successful annual campaign to address and support those community challenges.

United Way of Merced County with community involvement of our Funding Committees is helping to create a focused agenda, investing in strategies and agencies that are showing results and getting out of those that do not. We provide investment options that are issue-oriented. While providing maintenance for those in personal crisis, our focus will be on:

1. Education (pre-school and curriculum development),
2. Financial Stability/Economic Development (Earned Income Tax Credit, Financial Training,
    Job Training, and Economic Development)
3. Health initiatives (Obesity, diabetes and nutrition)

We invite each of you individuals and organizations to become part of the living vision of Community Building that United Way of Merced County is participating in.  By focusing on a few priorities, establishing common goals and pooling resources, there is no limit to the positive, transformative changes that we can bring about in the community in which we live, work and raise our families!

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about this transition.  Thank you for your continued support of United Way and our community.

Sincerely,

Flip Hassett
